Join us in Saint Joseph, Missouri on October 24-25, 2026.
Welcome to St. Joseph, Missouri! The Show Me Your Free State Marathon and Ultra is designed to showcase the stunning beauty of the "Show Me State" and the "Free State," where Missouri and Kansas converge along the Missouri River valley. Our goal is to provide all participants an unforgettable running experience in a welcoming environment that they and their supporters will cherish forever. All proceeds will benefit Benton High School Cross Country and Track & Field programs.
The SMYFS course is a 25-mile loop that starts and ends at Rosecrans Airport. The course is run in a counter-clockwise direction.
Participants in the 100-mile ultra repeat this loop four times and the 50-milers will repeat this course twice. 50K runners will complete one full lap and then continue as if they were doing a second lap, but will turn around at the 3-mile mark. Marathon runners will do the same, but they will turn around at the 0.6-mile mark and return to the start-finish. Half marathoners proceed along the course for 6.55 miles to the half-marathon turn-around and run back.
